MARCH 27, 2009/27    
Sierra 9, ARC  0   1-13 Overall 0-8 Conference

The Beavers stepped onto the court with the goal of winning more games against an undefeated Wolverine club than the first match-up (3/10). The wolverines were too strong for the beavers winning all nine matches in straight sets. The beavers however, did improve on winning more overall games!!  GO BEAVS!!
 

MARCH 24, 2009    
Santa Rosa 7, ARC  2  1-12 Overcall 0-7 Conference

The Beavers played a much improved match against the bear cubs.  Captain, Laine Rugen led the way with a straight set win at #4 singles (6-3, 6-1). Romana Dumitras (#3) had an epic battle that ended in a third set tie-breaker. Dumitras had a match point at 7-6 but eventually lost the 3rd set 7-9. Final score was 3-6, 6-3, 6-7 (7-9). Dumitras then partnered with Texiera Andrews to pull out their first win as doubles partners, 4-6, 6-4 (10-7).
 

MARCH 19, 2009 

 

 

  Chabot 6, ARC 3

1-11 Overall

Non-Conference

The beavers jumped out on top with 2 wins due to defaults, but struggled to stay afloat during the rest of the match. #5 singles (Pal) played a great, controlled match winning in straight sets (2,3) and clinching her third singles match win for the season.
 

MARCH 17, 2009

 

 

  Diablo Valley 9, ARC 0

1-10 Overall

0-6 Conference

The beavers struggled against a much stronger Vikings squad, with a differnt lineup. A battle at #3 singles (Dumitrus) was the beavers only highlight of the day. Dumitrus won the first set 6-4, lost the secnd 0-6 and eventually losing the third 4-6.
 

MARCH 13, 2009

 

 

  SHASTA 6, ARC 3 

1-9 Overall

0-5 Conference

The beavers improved on their last performance by winning 3 matches. #4 singles (Rugen) finished her match in style, winning easily 6-1 6-1. #5 (Leon) and #6 (Pal) battled to win in a 3rd set tiebreaker. Leon, losing the first set 2-6, fought back in the second 7-5 and went on to win 11-9 in the tiebreaker. Pal, won the first 6-4 and dropped the second 1-6 but regained her confidence to win the tiebreaker 10-6. Go Beavers!
 

March 10, 2009    
Sierra  9, ARC 0 1-8 Overall 0-4 Conference

A strong wolverine pack came into the match undefeated, and left undefeated. The strongest showing from the beavers came at #1 doubles (Rugen and Ramos), who were able to grabbed 4 games in the first set before losing 4-6, 0-6.
 

March 6, 2009
Santa Rosa 9, ARC 0 1-7 Overall 0-3 Conference

The bear cubs dominated the beavers from the beginning. A strong showing from #5 singles Raj Pal was the beavers only highlight. Raj jumped out on top winning the first set 6-2 but dropping the second (6-1) and eventually losing the 3rd (6-2).
 

February 27, 2009
Diablo Valley 7, ARC 2 1-6 Overall 0-2 Conference

The beavers dropped a tough one to the Vikings after losing 2 singles matches that went into 3 sets (#5 Raj Pal and #6 Erica Leon), and all 3 doubles matches going to a 3rd set 10 point tiebreak. Team captain, Laine Rugen (#4) had a strong performance winning both her singles match (6-3, 6-2) and the number 1 doubles match with partner, Addie Ramos (5-7, 6-3, (10-5),
 

FEBRUARY 24, 2009

Shasta 9, ARC 0

1-5 Overall

0-1 Conference

The Beavers dropped their first Big 8 match after getting blanked by the Knights. Strong performances in the doubles came from No. 1 and No. 3. Huanaco and Rugen lost the first set 2-6, then pulled out the second set 7-6 (7-4) before losing in a 3rd set tie-breaker (10-8). Dumitras and Pal came back from 0-6 in the 1st set to win the 2nd 6-1 before losing in the 3rd set tie-breaker (10-6).


february 21, 2009

  Reedley 9, ARC 0  

1-4 Overall 

0-0 Conference

Traveling southwest to Reedley, the Beavers dropped all nine matches in a straight set shutout to a very solid Reedley squad lead by a very strong Yumiko Justin at #1 singles.


FEBRUARY 17, 2009

  Modesto 8, ARC 1

1-3 Overall 

0-0 Conference

The Beavers fell to the Pirates with the lone victory coming at No. 2 doubles. Texiera Andrews and Addie Ramos teamed up to win in the 3rd set tie-breaker (10-8), preventing a shutout. Laine Rugen turned in the strongest singles performance at No. 6, eventually losing  5-7, 2-6.


FEBRUARY 12, 2009

  Sacramento City 5, ARC 2

1-2 Overall

0-0 Conference

The Beavers picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, but it was not enough as they fell to the panthers. Raj Pal had the strongest singles showing finally losing in a 3rd set tiebreaker. Erica Leon lost her first set 4-6, but came back strong in the second tying the match 3-3 before the game was called because of light. 


FEBRUARY 10, 2009

San Francisco 9, ARC 0

1-1 Overall

0-0 Conference

The Rams dominated the Beavers in the second match of the season. San Francisco posted straight set wins in 5 of the singles matches and all 3 doubles matches. ARC’s closest single match came at No. 2 singles when Texiera Andrews lost in 3 sets, and the closest doubles match came from the #2 pair of Andrews and Ramos (4-6, 5-7).


february 3, 2009

ARC 6, Cosumnes River 3 

1-0 Overall

0-0 Conference

The Beavers opened the season with a sound non-conference win over the rival Hawks. #2 Texiera Andrews, #3 Addie Ramos, #4 Romana Dumitras and #5 Raj Pal set the tone by earning two-set wins in the first four singles matches. ARC almost swept all three doubles pairings, #2 doubles (Andrews and Ramos) and #3 doubles (Dumitras and Pal) won in two sets while #1 doubles (Rugen and Huanaco lost in a 3rd set tiebreaker (11-9).
