“Having gone through artistic puberty as a printmaker, my work continues to be conceived by similar processes. I work primarily with large scale drawings execute in graphite, and small paintings in oil.

“Of late, I’ve begun to make digital art and large scale, mostly commissioned, acrylic paintings. I use a process not unlike the scraping and etching of plates to achieve multilayered images through modifications, retracings, and cancellations. Elements often present in my work are a sense of locale, a hazy dreamy quality, vertigo, and mystery, with an undercurrent of humor or irony. I hope to tap into a wellspring of subconscious pressure points.

“I try to allude to the ‘edge’, in all its glory of grayness, and weightlessness, while, simultaneously, search the horizon for the serene.”
